The story is as familiar as it is beloved. That nasty tornado carries Dorothy and her canine pal Toto from the friendly confines of her Kansas home to a fabled fantasy of mystery in the land of Oz. Our story begins with the Illusionists who set the scene for the tale you are about to witness. With the help of the Munchkins and Glinda herself, the young Miss Gale and her loyal pooch join forces with the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and, of course, the Cowardly Lion. Off they go down the Yellow Brick Road–side-stepping a Wicked Witch and her ferocious Kalidahs, Sprouts that are far nicer-looking than they act, and the loyal Green Guard–on their perilous journey to find the Wizard and ask for his help. For they are sure his Wizness will grant their wishes and send Dorothy and Toto back to their home–or will he? We’ll never tell. Come see for yourself.
AUDITION: THE WIZARD OF OZ
An audition will be held for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of THE WIZARD OF OZ (day, date and location) from (start time) to (end time). Those auditioning should arrive at (start time) and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions.
Among the roles to be cast are Dorothy, Toto, the Lion, the Tin Man, the Professor/Wizard, the Green Guard, Glinda, the Wicked Witch, Mayor Munchkin, Farmer Munchkin, the Munchkins, the Kalidahs, the Illusionists and the Sprouts. Students grades (list grades eligible: K-12 during the school year; 1-12 in the summer), are encouraged to audition.
No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
The Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, and props. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from (start time) to (end time) each day.THE WIZARD OF OZ will be presented on (day and date) at (location).
