ABOUT MCT

The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency brings young performers together for a week-long theatrical experience that builds confidence, creativity, and collaboration.

Hosted locally by VCT, this program provides students the opportunity to audition, rehearse, and perform a full production in just one week, guided by professional touring artists.

Through this experience, participants develop valuable life skills such as teamwork, communication, and self-expression, all while creating something truly special for their community.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Deep in the salty waters of the Sassafras Sea lives a young mermaid named Celia, whose love for music sets her apart. Gifted with the most beautiful scales in all the Deep, Celia dreams of the world above the waves.

On their sixteenth birthdays, Celia and her sisters are each granted a single visit to the mysterious World Above, where they encounter strange and wondrous sights: fierce dragons, marching armies, and even a charming prince.

This imaginative adaptation of the classic tale is filled with lively music, humor, and unexpected twists, making it a magical experience for audiences of all ages.
