South Pacific - 2008

Directed by Jane Kouba, South Pacific was the Premier Production of Viroqua Community Theatre back in September 2008. And what a production it was, getting us off and running in the business of theatre arts in Viroqua. Cast included: Tammy Mastin, Gil Hoel, Maris Bock, Lucas Larson, Justin Blaircobb, Tasha Blaircobb, Erin Ford, Jackie Kolenko, Colin Crockett, Jonah Walker, Dean Saner, Dan Heitman, Brian Mastin, Jim Graham, Steve Parr, Forrest Humphrey, Marty McEvoy, Amy Jo Gabrielson, Caroline Carlson, Beth Walker-Stephenson, Kathy Lofton, Helen Jo Zitzmann, Misa Grenier, Ruthie Rappl, Autumn Gabrielson, Zoe Zibton, Emily Saner, Reese Westerhoff, Tom Westerhoff, Ed Peterson, Trevor Woggon, Jannah McPheron, Mari McPheron, and a special guest appearance by the Viroqua Men's Chorus!z

Arsenic and Old Lace - 2009

Directed by VCT Board member, Pam Kalinosky, Arsenic and Old Lace was VCT's second production onstage at Viroqua's Historic Temple Theatre in June, 2009. Cast included: Dean Saner, Taryn Power Greendeer, Erika Tucker, Matt Urch, Colin Crockett, Margot Hipwell, Dan Heitman, Patti Knower, Steve Parr, Grant Van Lishout, Ethan Larson, Jim Graham, Jonah Walker, Gil Hoel, and Ed Peterson.

Nunsense - 2010

Directed by VCT Board member, Bob Hill, Nunsense was our third production performed in February 2010. This hilarious comedy was a welcome reprieve for the winter blues. Cast included: Taryn Power Greendeer, Pam Kalinosky, Kim Jordan, Zoe Zibton, Katherine Koenieg and Maja Grinsted Hillegass.

Nosferatu: The Legend of Dracula - 2010

Directed by Phil Addis in 2010, "Nosferatu" was VCT's first Drama performance and a thriller at that! Cast included: Erin Whited-Ford, Chelsea Bjerkos, Steven Laurdan, Randy Mastin, Rebecca Smith, Gracie Hallberg-Cain, Zoe Zibton-Brooke, Gail Frie, Jonah Walker, Jackie Kolenko, Joel Gordon, Margot Hipwell, Steve Parr, Joeann Tesar, Ellen Arndorfer, Taryn Power Greendeer, Elias Ellefson, Colllin Crockett, Jacob Van Blarcom, Theresa Carey, Angie Bernstein, Pamra Olson-Christensen. The Music Man - 2011

Directed by Pam Kalinosky in 2011, "The Music Man" was one of our largest family shows to date. "The Music Man" included eight families all acting together in unforgettable performances. A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum - 2012

Directed by Steven Laurdan "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum" was VCT's second performance of 2012. Cast included: Steve Parr, Pam Kalinosky, Jake Stephens, Adam Fogelson, Sam Varney, Brian Mastin, Elias Ellefson, Zoe Zibton, Cassidy Coulson, Jackie Kolenko, Margot Hipwell, Patti Knower, Ira Slatter, Deneile Soltis, Misa Grenier, Reese Westerhoff, Sydney Westerhoff, and James Muller.

Murder Me Always - 2012

Directed by Jake Stephens "Murder Me Always" was VCT's first ever Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre. Our highly successful dinner theatre was held at Viroqua's Rooted Spoon on Main Street in 2012. Cast included: Tom Johnson, Ruthie Rappl, Zoe Zibton, Dodie Whitaker, Margot Hipwell, Alec Rappaport, Gail Frie, James Muller, Cara Hill, Shirley Creager, Steven Laurdan, Phil Oliver and Elias Ellefson.

Crimes of the Heart - 2013

Directed by Pita Daniels, "Crimes of the Heart", Beth Henley's 1981 Pulitzer Prize and New York Drama Critics Circle Award winner, was performed at Viroqua's The Ark in October 2013. The cast included Angie Bernstein, Jennifer Horton, Robert Anthony, Gracie Hallberg-Cain, Clara Zinky, and James Muller.

Blithe Spirit - 2013

Directed by Board Member Tom Johnson, "Blithe Spirit" was VCT's second Dinner Theatre held at The Rooted Spoon in 2013. Cast included: Jennifer Horton, Pam Kalinosky, Tom Westerhoff, Will Cronin, Zoe Zibton, Barbara Danner, and Tammy Mastin.

The Wizard of Oz - 2013

Directed by Board Member Tom Johnson, 2013's "The Wizard of Oz" was VCT's largest production to date. With a cast and crew of nearly 100 people (mostly school-aged), beautiful backdrops, peppy dance numbers, and well known and loved music, it also earned the largest audience.

On Golden Pond - 2014

VCT Board Member, Pam Kalinosky, directed Ernest Thompson's "On Golden Pond" November 2014. This was the second VCT dramatic production at The Ark. The cast included David Hough, Risha Murray, Elias Ellefson, Charlene Elderkin, Phineas Kellum, and Brian Mastin.

Mame - 2014

"Mame" was Board Member Tom Johnson's third production as director for VCT. Using five different backdrops, Broadway-worthy choreography, and an impressive costume ensemble, the cast of nearly 50 set the 2014 stage for this popular musical by Jerome Lawrence, Robert E. Lee, and Jerry Herman based on the novel by Patrick Dennis.

Oklahoma - 2015

VCT Board President, Tom Johnson, took the directing reigns once more for the 2015 summer musical production of "Oklahoma!" The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic was brought to life on Viroqua's Historic Temple Theater stage by an ensemble of Farmers, Cowmen, Singers, and Dancers. They even staged old-fashioned shootouts on the sidewalk outside the theater before the Saturday evening performances!

The Odd Couple - 2016

VCT Board Member, Deb Deaver, directed this Neil Simon comedy in the fall of 2016 at The Ark. The cast included Nathan H. Randall, Elias Ellefson, Jen Horton, Lucas Larson, Will Cronin, Ed Peterson, Angie Bernstein, and Bela Candelaria.

One Night Only! VCT Fundraiser - 2017

Comedy, music, skits, and laughter...supporters of the Viroqua Community Theatre enjoyed a night of fun and entertainment while raising money at the 3rd One Night Only! VCT Fundraiser.

Suessical - 2017

Directed by Jacinta Henden, VCT's 2017 musical, "Seussical", was a joyous musical return after taking the summer of 2016 off as a rebuilding year. Written by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, "Seussical" is based on the world of Dr. Seuss and featured a cast of 50 (most of them school aged). With such beloved characters as The Cat in the Hat and Horton the Elephant, "Seussical" took everyone on a fantastical journey from the Jungle of Nool to Whoville and beyond.

Shrek: The Musical - 2018

Once again the amazing Jacinta Henden directed both drama and music for VCT's summer 2018 musical, this time with a cast, orchestra and crew numbering over 100! Incredible performances all around and great audiences, selling out at the final matinee.  Performed at The Historic Temple Theatre in Viroqua, this was a terrific way to be entertained either for a couple hours in the audience, several weeks in the pit or on crew, or for two months as a cast member.

Chicago - 2019

 Lead by director Pita Daniels, this adult-themed musical was a new avenue for VCT to walk down - and was a sensation for all.  The summer of 2019 was filled with terrific music, great characters, and the grand stage spectacle for which VCT is known. Chicago was performed in the intimate setting of the Landmark Center Auditorium, very appropriate for this particular show. What a great summer highlight!

Variety Show - 2019

This March 2019 variety show was again put on at The Rooted Spoon, this time spotlighting the amazing talent of our area AND the world premier of Dean Saner's mini-musical "Viroqua Community Theatre Saves the World." Indeed, this group could no doubt do exactly that!

Nothing Good Happens After Midnight - 2020 (Virtual)

Directed by Pam Kalinosky, "Nothing Good Happens After Midnight" was a Comedy skit about a family trying to get a wedding off the ground during the quarantine. The cast included Elizabeth Hoversten, Patti DeMark-Knower, David Ware and Brian Lyle.

Good Things for Halloween - 2020 (Virtual

Directed by Pam Kalinosky, "Good Things for Halloween" was a spooky yet light-hearted skit made for Zoom. The story follows a group of friends planning the perfect Halloween party. As they brainstorm ideas, they accidentally summon a friendly ghost who helps them plan the best party ever—but not without a few mischievous twists! The cast included Kevin Miro, Kate Koziol, Sunshine Doray, Paul Ratte, Pita Daniels, and Elizabeth Hoversten.

Failure is Impossible - 2021 (Virtual)

Narrated by Erica Howe, "Failure is Impossible" was a collaboration with the Vernon County Historical Society to honor the women who worked tirelessly to achieve the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Starring the talents of Karen Dahl, Erica Howe, Brian Lyle and Rebecca Palmer in portrayals of various characters that carry you through the movement.

Edge of Noir - 2021 (Virtual)

Directed by Pam Kalinosky, "Edge of Noir" is a comedic take on the classic film noir genre. The story kicks off with a phone call from Velma “The Songbird” Tanager, who tips off night desk reporter Stirling “Rocky” Rockford about the stolen Star of Skagway gem. To crack the case, Rocky teams up with private investigator Samantha Spade, who navigates through clues from small-time con-man Shifty Weaselman. This one-act spoof, filled with monologues and split-screen phone calls, pays homage to 1940s noir films. The cast includes Adam Fogelson, Patti DeMark Knower, Mary Beth Specht, and Brian Lyle, along with a few surprises!

Replacing Linda - 2021 (Virtual)

Directed by Pam Kalinosky, "Replacing Linda" was a comedy skit made for Zoom about two owners of a business that need to find a replacement for their office assistant - and by next week! The candidates are not ideal, not by a long shot. Cast included Elias Ellefson, Pam Kalinosky, Erica Howe, Brooks Ekern and Patti DeMark Knower

The Guys - 2021

Two New Yorkers, a firefighter and a reporter, come together and find ways to help each other heal after 9/11. Directed by Pita Daniels. Our first show since (and during) COVID, VCT was thrilled to have the opportunity to share community talent with our patrons.

Sweet Charity - 2022

Directed by Pita Daniels, VCT's 2022 musical, "Sweet Charity," marked a bright time in VCT. Written by Cy Coleman, "Sweet Charity" brought the vibrant story of Charity Hope Valentine to life, featuring a dynamic cast and memorable characters that took the audience on an unforgettable journey through love and ambition in 1960s New York City.

Christmas Sprinkles - 2022 (VIrtual)

Three skits from "Christmas Sprinkles" by Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus will surely put you in the mood for the holidays! Includes a job interview at the North Pole, a baking show with multiple mishaps and a newscast for the history books on Christmas Eve. Starring Jessica Cress, Amanda Schultz Garcia, Dan Heitman, Ary Howe, Elise Nicole and Peter Simon.

Little Mermaid - 2023

The Little Mermaid was VCT's return to a large cast after the COVID theater slow down! Directed by Jacinta Henden and Co-Directed by Emily Saner The Little Mermaid had 4 showings at The Historic Temple Theater in July 2023! The Cast and Crew were able to bring audiences Under the Sea making it one of the must successful summer productions that VCT has produced!

Variety Show - 2023

We welcomed 2023 with variety show directed and coordinated by K O'Brien, organized by Michelle Gobel with Sue Heitman acting as the evening's stage manager.  Music, poetry, the antics of cats and dogs... this show shone a light on the abundance of talent our community.

S. Gunter Klaus & The Story Before - 2023 

We ended the year back at The Landmark Center for a holiday performance directed by Tanja Birke. The one act play that is set in a remote village a the northen edge of the world. A lonley toy-maker is engaged in an epic battle with the fierce darkness of winter. A magical adventure through ancient Scandinavian folklore to unearth the true origins of Santa Cluas. There were 3 performances held Dec 15,16, and 17th.

Our Town - 2024

Directed in partnership with Jones Classical Theater, VCT's 2024 production of "Our Town" was a touching production. Written by Thornton Wilder, "Our Town" brought the everyday lives of Grover's Corners residents to life, featuring Helena Anlyn, Summer Areheart, Ian Baird, Evan Blatner, Travis Bedard, Brooke Boie, Phoebe Clemens, Ben Conover, Peter Daniels, Ceci Haessly, Emma Hood, Ary Howe, Sarah Hunt, Leah J., Dodie Whitaker, and professional actors Travis Bedard, Gay Glenn, and Greta Zandstra. This dynamic cast captured the essence of community and timeless themes of love and loss.

Urinetown: The Musical - 2024

Directed by K O’Brien, Viroqua Community Theater's summer production of "Urinetown" delivered a memorable experience to audiences. The talented cast included Ary Howe, Rebecca Fitzwater, Kaylee McBride, Kathy Brusubardis, Nathan Zirk, Dan Heitman, Dodie Whitaker, Allison Hartberg, Steven Laurdan, Camden Unseth, Aiden Unseth, Craig Anderson, Margot Hipwell, Annabella Dlugi, Kaylee Rivera, Zoe Olsen, Phoebe Clemens, and Aleks Sample.
